Orgelets julekonsert med Valen Vokalensemble

For this year’s Christmas concert, our residing organist Nils Henrik Asheim has brought along the Valen Vocal Ensemble, the new elite group of singers in Rogaland. Together, they take you on an atmospheric journey via beautiful Christmas folk tunes from several countries, to sacred compositions by, among others, Fartein Valen himself – and on the way sound images are evoked that only the magical transition between human voice and organ can create.
 
The Valen Vocal Ensemble consists of professional singers from Tysvær in the north to Egersund in the south. The members have experience from, among others, The Norwegian Soloist Choir, Kilden Vocal Ensemble, Trondheim Vocal Ensemble, The Norwegian Opera Chorus, Nordic Voices and Trio Mediæval. Oddgeir Kjetilstad is the ensemble’s artistic director.
