MaiJazz: Angélique Kidjo

Angélique Kidjo could deservedly accept this year’s prestigious Polar Music Prize. And this, in the same year as she celebrates 40 years as an influential artist.

Speaking of awards – her latest album “Mother Nature” received the 2021 Grammy Award for Best World Music. And it is her Mother Nature tour that is coming to Stavanger.

Kidjo is one of the most outstanding artists of the last decades, a forward-thinking and creative thinker – an artist who wants to explore the connections between different musical cultures.

She is the queen of Afro-pop, and BBC included her in the list of Africa’s most iconic personalities. But above all, she is an artist with an important message – come and hear it at Stavanger Concert Hall on Wednesday, May 8.

This concert takes place in Zetlitz and has an age limit of 18 years. For this concert, unnumbered tickets are sold, and there are both standing and seating places in the hall.
