MaiJazz 2025: Mid-Atlantic med Håkon Kornstad og Oslo jazzensemble

In the concert performance Mid-Atlantic, opera singer and jazz saxophonist Håkon Kornstad, together with an expanded Oslo Jazz Ensemble, presents European and American opera and jazz hits that highlight the close musical kinship between European art music and American jazz.

And where else would this performance naturally take place than at the concert hall in Stavanger, right by the harbor where both Restauration and Stavangerfjord set sail!

Performers include Håkon Kornstad as soloist and musical director, along with Frank Brodahl, Marius Haltli, and Anders Eriksson on trumpet; Even Skatrud and Nils Andreas Granseth on trombone; Ingrid Utne on bass trombone; Martin Myhre Olsen on soprano and alto saxophone; Børge-Are Halvorsen on tenor saxophone, flute, and alto flute; Atle Nymo on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet; Tina Lægreid Olsen on baritone saxophone and bass clarinet; Kalle Moberg on accordion; Anders Aarum and Gunnar Flagstad on grand piano and keyboard; Trygve Waldemar Fiske on bass; and Håkon Mjåset Johansen on drums.

The idea, script, and production were developed by Håkon Kornstad and Anders Eriksson. Thor-Ivar Lund managed sound, while lighting and visuals were handled by Tor S. Ditlevsen/Superlys.

Music arrangements were created by Eivind Buene, Erlend Skomsvoll, Knut Kristiansen, Håkon Kornstad, and Anders Eriksson.
