Det anerkjente ungdomsorkesteret planlegger fire konserter, i Oslo Konserthus, Grieghallen
i Bergen og Stavanger konserthus før de avslutter på Valdres Sommersymfoni Festival. David Coucheron, nordmannen som for tiden er konsertmester i Atlanta Symphony Orchestra er med som solist i Saint-Säens Fiolinkonsert nr. 3. På programmet star også, blant annet Rakhmaninovs Symfoniske danser.
Esteemed conductor and YPO Music Director, David Loebel, will lead New England
Conservatory’s Youth Philharmonic Orchestra on a performing tour through Norway during
the summer of 2017. From June 22 through July 2, 2017, the YPO will perform at the Oslo Concert Hall, Grieg Hall, Stavanger Concert Hall and at the Valdres Summer Symphony Festival.
This year’s featured soloist is distinguished violinist and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster, David Coucheron, who is originally from Norway. He will perform Saint-Säens Violin Concerto No. 3 with the YPO. The orchestra will also perform Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances and additional works by great masters.
About the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra
Founded in 1962, the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (YPO) is the senior-most orchestra at New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School. It is composed of 90 gifted young musicians between the ages of 14–18 who are selected annually from over 1000 applicants. In an unusual and rich artistic partnership between youth orchestra and college conservatory, the YPO is guided by Music Director David Loebel, NEC.
